When designing storage racks and forklift trucks, you should think about what is the maximum lifting height of the truck? In the warehouse of the warehouse master, it is 4700 mm, because this forklift has a Triplex mast, which also fits into a sea container. The height of the mast in the free position may limit the ability to operate in areas with lower ceilings. For example, if the lifting height of the mast is 4700 mm, the last storage rack can be placed at a height of 4550 mm, because the forklift truck has a pallet on its arms and needs lifting space. On our Linde, the total height of the mast must be about 700 mm more, i.e. the ceiling must be at least 5400 mm. We strongly recommend that you consult the technical literature of lift manufacturers and the “dimensions” section. From there, the truth emerges, made possible by the lift. This decision will also be the basis for intermediate corridors for storage bins.

The most important lines from the technical literature on warehouse trucks for warehouse planning are:

  • Height mast lowered – the height of the mast in the lowered position;
  • Height of mast extended – the height of the mast fully up;
  • Lift – lift;
  • Free lift – free lift, i.e. the height of the mast does not change up to this height;
  • Fork dimensions – length of the fork (1150 is common, but there are also variants with longer forks);
  • Platform height – platform height (on a four-way lift);
  • Aisle width – the width of the working corridor along and perpendicular to the base.
