Base shelves

Who to work with and how to ask for a quote?

There are a lot of different brands of shelves in Estonia and this is probably due to the fact that foreign branches have taken their old shelves with them when they moved to Estonia. To protect their own interests, manufacturers have made the teeth on the struts and the holes pressed into the struts different, i.e. struts and struts from different manufacturers do not match. In today’s situation, where there are more than 10 different brands of base shelves in circulation in Estonia, some of which have been discontinued, we are often faced with a major problem of needing to replace or repair shelf components. If you buy a shelf today, it makes sense to buy it from a place where you will be able to buy it years from now. There are a number of long-established stockists on the market from whom to ask for a quote. They are also usually able to show you solutions they have done in the past – when you buy a car you test drive it, why buy a shelf without seeing it in action?

It’s interesting to see how people develop ideas about what shelves should be in their warehouse and how they should be positioned. Usually, you have heard and seen something from someone and you act on it. You can’t argue that homework doesn’t need to be done at all – after all, it directly affects your resources.

The better you know what you need to store, the easier it is for your storage provider to help you!

  • Also look for a floor plan from your company or builder;
  • Write down the goods, volume and weight;
  • Don’t forget the forklift truck – its technical specifications will also help;
  • Invite bidders to visit – face-to-face contact is always a good idea!;
  • Work with several bidders at the same time and set a deadline for your bid.
  • If the project is too big, do it in several parts. Tell the supplier that you want to buy in several parts;
  • Be precise and take note of any room peculiarities that may arise during the installation;
  • Have the installer check yourself and the measurements, so there is less room for error;
  • Ask the installer for drawings. Go through the drawings and the offer and make sure everything is right!
